Proofing House is a Shopify app for merchants selling apparel and accessories into the EU. It checks your live catalogue against the rules in force today and names every date still to come, each one carried by the regulation behind it.
What it is
Most vendor content about these rules quotes dates the law does not contain. Proofing House does the opposite.
Working inside your Shopify admin, it reads the catalogue you already have and flags the listings a rule in force today leaves exposed. It names the next date too, with the regulation behind it, so you can check the claim against the Official Journal yourself.
Four checks, each tied to a real rule.
GPSR listing checker
Regulation (EU) 2023/988, in force since 13 December 2024.
GPSR asks for an EU responsible person and manufacturer details on every consumer-product listing, with no size threshold.
Proofing House scans your products for those details and counts the SKUs still missing them. The required information block renders on your product pages through a theme app extension.
Green-claims audit
Directive (EU) 2024/825, applies 27 September 2026.
The directive restricts generic environmental wording like "eco-friendly" and "sustainable" when it is not backed by recognised proof.
Claude reads your product and page copy, then flags the wording that falls in a restricted category. Each flag carries the reason and a suggested rewrite. You approve every change; nothing in your store is altered on its own.
France EPR helper
Applies from your first unit sold into France.
France's textile EPR scheme, known as AGEC, reaches foreign sellers from the first sale, with no threshold.
Proofing House surfaces the duty: the unique identifier (IDU) to display and a Triman signage checklist to work through. When a declaration falls due, it reminds you. Registering with Refashion stays your job.
DPP preparation
The JRC textile spec; obligations expected around 2028 to 2029.
Textile digital product passports are not law yet. They wait on a delegated act under the Ecodesign regulation, expected around 2027, so the obligation is expected around 2028 to 2029.
Proofing House drafts the JRC 49-field schema from the product data you already hold and marks the gaps. Each SKU gets a hosted passport page with a QR code. This is data readiness for 2028, never a compliance claim.
